How to test for a double-click button issue
A common mouse hardware problem is "click chatter," where a worn-out switch registers a single click as two rapid clicks. Click normally, one deliberate click at a time, in the test box above. If this tool detects two clicks registering within about 40 milliseconds of each other far faster than a human can intentionally click twice it will flag it as a possible hardware double-click issue.
What else can I test here?
Use the box to check that your left, right, and middle mouse buttons all register correctly, and scroll your mouse wheel over the box to confirm scroll events are being detected.
FAQ
My right-click didn't open a menu is that normal?
Yes the normal right-click menu is intentionally disabled inside the test box so it can register your click as a test event instead.
What should I do if double-click chatter is detected?
This usually means the switch inside that mouse button is wearing out. Some mice can be repaired by replacing the switch, but for most people it's a sign it's time to replace the mouse.
