What is a good reaction time?

The average human visual reaction time is around 200-250 milliseconds. Trained athletes and gamers often reach 150-200ms, while times under 150ms are exceptionally fast. Reaction time naturally varies from test to test, so try a few rounds and look at your average.

How this test works

Click the red box to begin. After a random delay, it turns green click as fast as you can the moment it does. If you click before it turns green, the test restarts, since that measures anticipation rather than reaction time.

FAQ

Why did it say I clicked too soon?
The box turns green at a random time to prevent you from guessing. Clicking during the red phase counts as a false start, and the round resets.

Does caffeine or tiredness affect reaction time?
Yes reaction time is sensitive to alertness, so results can vary throughout the day or after caffeine, exercise, or lack of sleep.
