How to merge PDF files
Drag in two or more PDF files, use the up and down arrows to arrange them in the order you want them to appear, then click "Merge PDFs." The combined file downloads instantly as a single new PDF containing every page from every file, in that order.
Common reasons to combine PDFs
Merging comes up constantly in ordinary paperwork: combining several scanned receipts into one file for an expense report, stitching together a cover letter, resume, and references into a single application document, joining chapters of a report that were exported separately, or bundling a signed contract with its supporting attachments before emailing them as one file instead of several loose ones. Most portals and email clients handle a single attachment far more gracefully than several separate files.
File order and size considerations
The merge order always follows the order shown in the file list, so drag files into place with the up and down arrows before merging there's no way to reorder pages after the fact. Because merging happens entirely in your browser's memory rather than on a server, very large PDFs (hundreds of megabytes combined) may take longer or feel sluggish depending on your device's available memory, but there's no artificial file-count or page-count limit imposed by the tool itself.
Can I reorder or remove pages within a single PDF?
Not with this tool it merges whole files in the sequence you set, but doesn't let you drop or reorder individual pages inside one PDF before merging. If you need to remove a specific page from a file first, split it out with a Split PDF tool, then merge the remaining pieces here.
FAQ
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No every PDF is processed locally using the PDF-Lib JavaScript library running in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I reorder the pages within a single PDF?
Not directly this tool merges whole files in the order you set. To reorder or drop pages inside one file first, use a Split PDF tool to pull out the pages you want, then merge them here in the order you need.
Is there a file size or page limit?
Since merging happens entirely in your browser's memory, very large PDFs (hundreds of megabytes) may be slower depending on your device, but there's no artificial limit imposed by this tool.
Will merging affect the quality of my PDFs?
No pages are copied directly from each source file without being flattened or re-rendered as images, so text stays sharp and searchable and embedded images keep their original resolution.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
No an encrypted or password-protected PDF can't be read by browser JavaScript without the password. Remove the password first with a PDF unlock tool, then merge the unprotected files.
