Your audio file is processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded anywhere.

How to trim an audio file

Choose or drag in an audio file to see its waveform. Drag the start and end sliders to select the section you want to keep, click "Preview Selection" to listen, then click "Download Trimmed Audio" to save it as a WAV file.

What audio formats are supported?

You can upload most common audio formats, including MP3, WAV, M4A, and OGG. The trimmed clip is always downloaded as a WAV file for maximum compatibility.

FAQ

Is my audio file uploaded to a server?
No the entire trimming process happens locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. Your file never leaves your device.

Is there a file size limit?
There's no hard limit, but very large audio files may take longer to process and use more of your browser's memory.

Choosing clean edit points

Listen just before and after the section you want, then place the start and end points where the waveform or sound naturally becomes quiet. Leaving a very small margin can prevent clipped consonants or abrupt musical attacks. Preview the selected range before exporting and compare the downloaded file with the original.

Format and quality notes

The tool exports WAV audio for broad compatibility and straightforward browser processing. WAV files can be much larger than compressed formats such as MP3 or AAC, and trimming does not remove noise or improve a poor source recording. Keep the original file, check available storage, and use a full audio editor when you need fades, mixing, restoration, or precise sample-level work.
