How to use this metronome
Drag the slider or use "Tap Tempo" to set your beats per minute (BPM), choose a time signature, then click "Start." The first beat of each measure is accented so you can keep track of the downbeat.
What is tap tempo?
Tap the "Tap Tempo" button in rhythm at least twice, and the metronome will calculate and set the BPM based on the time between your taps handy when you know the feel of a tempo but not the exact number.
FAQ
What BPM range does this support?
This metronome supports 40240 BPM, covering everything from a slow largo to a fast presto.
Do I need speakers or headphones?
Yes the click sound is generated using your device's audio output, so make sure your volume is on and unmuted.
Practicing with a metronome
Begin slowly enough to play the passage correctly, listen for the click, and keep each note aligned without rushing after a mistake. Increase the tempo in small steps only after several clean repetitions. Tap tempo is useful for estimating the pulse of a recording, while a fixed BPM is better for measuring gradual progress.
Timing and audio considerations
Browser scheduling and speaker latency can vary slightly by device, especially when many tabs are open or Bluetooth audio is connected. For casual practice the click is usually sufficient, but professional recording or calibration work may require dedicated audio software or hardware. Protect your hearing by keeping the volume comfortable during long sessions.
