How this notepad works
Click "+ New Note" to start a note, type a title and your content, and it auto-saves to your browser as you type. Switch between notes using the list on the left, and delete any note you no longer need.
Is my data private?
Yes this notepad stores everything locally in your browser's storage. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server, so your notes stay on your device only.
FAQ
Will my notes sync across devices?
No since notes are stored locally in your browser, they won't appear on other devices or browsers. This keeps things private but means notes are tied to the device and browser you wrote them in.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Clearing your browser's site data or local storage will delete your notes, so back up anything important elsewhere.
Good uses for a local notepad
A browser notepad is handy for temporary drafts, meeting takeaways, shopping lists, snippets, and text you plan to move somewhere else. Give each note a specific title so the sidebar remains useful as the list grows. For longer work, periodically copy the text into a backed-up document instead of relying on one browser profile.
What local storage does and does not do
Local storage normally survives a regular refresh or browser restart, but it is not a backup service. Private windows may discard data when closed, storage-cleaning utilities may erase it, and the notes will not follow you to another computer. Avoid using this tool as the only copy of passwords, recovery codes, legal records, or irreplaceable writing.
